Summary Justice Javed Iqbal said that Surah Haj of the Holy Quran be kept in view while forming Haj policy.
The Surah orders facilitating the pilgrims to the House of Allah. Four-member bench of the SC was hearing the case regarding Haj quota.The lawyer of tour operators argued that the government was making hue and cry over shortage of time dishonestly. He said the Ministry of Haj is bound to complete all its arrangements till Shawal 15. “This allows them ample time.” He said Haj quota had been made as a club in which there is no space for new ones.Advocate Azhar Siddique said that the letter which was being put before the court pertaining to Haj quota, was just a bundle of lies. He said that the said letter had nothing to do with the Saudi government; rather it was just a proceeding of the meeting of Saudi scholars.The court was adjourned for a day.
