Govt servants pension, allowances increased

The federal government notified the increase in salaries, pension and allowances which would be effective from July 1 and has given new pay scales.The basic salary of grade-1 employee would be Rs 4,800 while Grade 22 officer would receive Rs 43,000 as basic salary.According to the notification, ad-hoc and dearness relief and allowances have been merged with the basic salary. Annual increment has been raised up to 80 percent. The revised basic pay scale would be implemented from July 1, 2011.Conveyance allowance of the employees has been increased up to 25 percent while, washing dress, hill area, firewood, uniform and allowances of Naib Qasid have also been increased up to 100 percent.According to the notification, the government employees who retired after July 1, 2000 or after that would receive 15 percent raise in their pensions.Meanwhile, the government employees retiring till June 30, 2002 or before that would receive 20 percent raise in their pensions.
