The gas crisis turned worse in various cities of Punjab as the transporters increased fare because they had to run their vehicles on petrol due to the suspension of gas supply to the CNG stations.The transporters increased fares up to 50%. Many incidents of quarrel between passengers and transporters were witnessed due to the increase in fares.The workers at the CNG station said that they were hired on daily wages and the gas suspensions meant starvation for their family members.The CNG stations of influential people remained open in Phoolnagar, making mockery of the government policy of gas load management.
