Summary NEPRA has approved increase in power tariff by Re 0.61. New tariff would be in effect from July.
The increase in tariff has been made in monthly fuel adjustment head.The Central Power and Purchase Agency took a stance in an application to NEPRA that the power tariff should be increased by Re 0.61 as the price of furnace oil has increased up to Rs 63000 per metric ton.According to CPPA, the transmission losses of power distribution companies remained 3.1%.Tariff was increased by Re 0.23 per unit due to losses while the cost of production via furnace oil has increased by Re 0.51 per unit.
