Summary Pakistan moving in right direction despite coronavirus hardships: Hafeez Sheikh
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Prime Minister Imran Khan’s Finance Advisor Dr Abdul Hafeez Sheikh has said that Pakistan weathered the effects of coronavirus and is now moving in the right direction. He said that cooperation between Pakistan and the World Bank will be enhanced in various fields to accelerate the pace of development.
He said this in a meeting that he chaired on Wednesday, attended by the World Bank Country Director and the World Bank Operations Manager.
The Finance Adviser said that the World Bank has played a role in the implementation of various development projects in Pakistan as well as always cooperated for reforms in the country. The country director thanked the Finance Advisor for implementing projects of mutual interest.
The meeting also discussed energy, debt management, General Sales tax (GST) and strengthening the financial system.
The World Bank Country Director said that if the test trials of coronavirus vaccine are successful, the World Bank will be willing to cooperate. The Finance Adviser assured full cooperation on the ongoing projects of the World Bank.
