Summary PM Gilani said Pakistan desires the success of Afghan-owned reconciliation peace process.

Minister for Defence Ch Ahmad Mukhtar called on Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani and briefed him about security situation on the western border.PM said the joint strategy to monitor cross-border movement on the western border would greatly help check infiltration of undesirable elements damaging the efforts to bring about peace and stability in the region.Pakistan, he added, desires the success of Afghan-owned reconciliation process which would positively impact the security environment.Talking to PML-Q president Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and federal ministers at the PM Secretariat before the cabinet meeting, Gilani said the Pakistan Peoples Party would adhere to the policy of reconciliation with other political groups despite its clear majority in the Azad Jammu and Kashmir elections.He said the PPP would take onboard all democratic forces on national issues. Regarding the third and final phase of the devolution process, the Prime Minister lauded the role of the Implementation Commission, especially of Mian Raza Rabbani for his commitment and endeavours beyond party affiliations.
