Summary Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry has said the judiciarys role was vital for rule of law.
Addressing the 1st Summit of the All Pakistan Judicial Academy in Karachi on Saturday, the CJ said the judiciary is the custodian of the constitution and the people’s rights.He said protecting the constitution is the judiciary’s main job as a third pillar of the state. The judiciary’s role is increasing with every passing day because an increasing number of people look up to courts for justice, he added.
