Summary Southern Punjab remained focal point of discussion during budget speeches in the Punjab Assembly.
The opposition members have been discussing the deprivations in the Southern Punjab while the ruling party members have been highlighting developmental projects initiated by the government there.Discussing the budget, Mohsin Leghari of PML-Q and Abdul Qadir Gilani of PPP said that independence from ‘Takht Lahore’ was voice of 35 million people of 17 districts.They said that the government was trying to plan for appointing the upper areas youth on higher posts while it announced to turn the youth of the southern areas into taxi drivers. The ruling party members said that the establishment of Danish Schools in Southern Punjab was a historical decision of the Punjab government.They added that Rs 70 billion were allocated for southern Punjab in the budget.
