Summary Rs 4 billion embezzlement and fake study of wind energy projects also came to light in the board.

The government has decided to abolish Alternate Energy Development Board (AEDB) as it has failed to generate even one megawatt of electricity during the last 10 years.According to sources, all the matters related to alternative energy would be entrusted with Private Power Infrastructure Board.The government has also decided to sack officials of the AEDB while the permanent employees would be sent to other departments.Sources said that the board was being abolished due to its bleak performance while scandals of Rs 4 billion defalcation and the fake wind energy study had also come to light.
