The tribunal, probing the killing of five foreigners by security forces at a Kharotabad check post, started its proceedings on Wednesday.Justice Hashim Kakar, who is heading the tribunal, took notice of the torture on Dr Baqir Shah and cameraman Jamal Tarakai.Jamal Tarakai, who had filmed the security forces’ firing at the five foreigners, recorded his statement about his arrest by police.He told the tribunal that he was manhandled and insulted during his detention. He said he was feeling insecure because of the police attitude.Balochistan Union of Journalists (BUJ) President Issa Tareen recorded his statement before the tribunal, saying that Tarakai was receiving threats, but the BUJ did not act because the matter was pending before the tribunal. Justice Kakar expressed his annoyance when station house officers of City and Gowalmandi police stations appeared before the court in uniform. The judge asked them why they were wearing uniforms while they had been suspended.
