Summary The duration of load shedding has been increased in the country with rise in electricity shotfall.
According to the Pakistan Electric power Company (PEPCO) spokesman, the current demand of electricity is 17,318 megawatt against production of 14,000 megawatt.With rise in the shortfall, the duration of load shedding has been increased up to six hours in urban areas and nine hours in rural areas. On the other hand, KESC has increase the duration of unscheduled power shutdown to four hours in Karachi. The masses are facing hardships due to long hours of load shedding amid persistent hot weathers in the country.
