Summary President Asif Ali Zardari has appointed four members of ECP and eight members of CII.

The judges who have been appointed as members Election Commission Pakistan (ECP) include Justice (r) Riaz Kayani (Punjab), Justice (r) Muhammad Roshan Essani (Sindh), Justice (r) Fazal-ur-Rehman (Balochistan), and Justice (r) Shahzad Akbar Khan (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa).The Parliamentary Committee on appointment of Chief Election Commissioner and Members of the Election Commission in its meeting on June 1, 2011 has already confirmed the names of these four retired judges for appointment as members of the Election Commission of Pakistan.From Punjab, Maulana Allama Zubair Ahmed Zaheer, Justice (r) Mian Nazir Akhter, Syed Iftikhar Hussain Naqvi and Qari Muhammad Hanif Jallandhari have been appointed. From Sindh, Justice (r) Mushtaq A. Memon and Iqbal Hussain Shah Faizi have been appointed. From Balochistan, Pir Khalid Sultan Al-Qadi and Feroze Jamal Shah from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have been appointed as members of the Council of Islamic Ideology (CII).
