ISLAMABAD (APP) - Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday appreciated EU’s decision for continuation of GSP Plus status to Pakistan which contributed towards enhancement of country’s exports and further strengthening of its ties with the member countries.

In a series of tweets, the prime minister said that Pakistan intends to continue working to fulfill its commitments under the 27 UN conventions including six Human Rights Conventions associated with the GSP Plus status.

Recounting various administrative and legislative steps taken to protect rights of women, children and transgender, he said “We have enacted a law to ensure women’s right to inheritance and are committed to enforcing laws against child labour and in support of transgenders.

PM Imran also expressed satisfaction on EU’s acknowledgement of some of the flagship initiatives of the present government including Billion Tree Tsunami project and National Action Plan on Human Rights.
