Cyclone threat: Sea swimming banned in Karachi

Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat-ul-Ibad Khan has directed the district government to take measures for the safety of the citizens.According to a handout issued by the Governor House, the Governor directed that the safety measures should be ensured with public cooperation to avoid any eventuality as forecast by Pakistan Meteorological Department.He directed the authorities concerned to update residents of coastal and lower areas and fishermen about the situation.The Sindh Governor has also directed the district governments, disaster management and health department to remain alert.On the other hand, the city government has banned bathing and swimming in the sea under Section 144 which would urgently be in effect.
