Pakistan facing diesel shortage

LAHORE (Dunya News) – Several areas of Pakistan have run out of diesel as Pakistan State Oil (PSO) is the only company having the diesel in stock.

According to sources, demands of diesel increased due to wheat harvesting and relaxation in lockdown but petroleum companies failed to import sufficient stocks.

On the other hand, PSO is forcing retail outlets to take supply of 15,000 liters of petrol for 5,000 liters of diesel.

Earlier, the Petroleum Division had imposed a ban on the import of crude oil, petrol, and high-speed diesel from April 1, which was suddenly lifted on April 24.
