According to Pakistan Electric Power Company (PEPCO) authorities, the hot weather in the country increased power consumption. The gap between the demand and supply of electricity caused the unscheduled load shedding as the electricity shortfall reached around 3,000 megawatt.The National Power Control Centre in Islamabad shut the supply to the overloaded grids of the country that caused the long hours of power outage in big cities. According to PEPCO authorities, the whole power supply system can trip, if supply to overloaded grids was not be shut.
