ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Supreme Court (SC) on Wednesday reserved verdict on governmnet’s appeal against restoration of registrar of Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC). The court also barred registrar of PMDC from entering the building till the verdict.

During the hearing, Attorney General told the court that PMDC registrar broke the locks and entered the building. On this, Chief Justice remarked that if the registrar is still in the building, he should leave the building and do not enter till court announces its judgment.

The Attorney General stated that the Registrar was appointed under Ordinance of 2019. Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan remarked that if the High Court nullified the PMC Ordinance than how the appointment under it can be restored. The high court cannot give such an order on complaint of contempt of court, he added.

Chief Justice remarked that the process of registration of thousands of doctors is pending. The court reserved the verdict on completion of the arguments.
