Its not courts duty to end lawyers strike: LHC chief

Summary Advocate Shahid Rana filed a writ petition, seeking ban on lawyers strike.

The Lahore High court Chief Justice Ijaz Chaudhry observed that courts cannot ban lawyers strike. The petitioner told there are 18,000 members of the Lahore Bar Association and only a few members passed a resolution of strike for their own interest and stop judges from work forcefully.The court observed that it was not court’s responsibility to stop lawyers for go on strike, but the petitioner should approach Pakistan bar Council.
