Summary PV Naik said that Pak-India talks on Siachen cannot continue until a control line is formed.
Briefing the media in Gujarat Air Chief Marshal P V Naik said that the process of demilitarisation along the Siachen glacier in restive Kashmir region is difficult until a control line is fixed, approved and demarcated by the international community in the terrain to prevent future intrusions from across the border with hostile intentions.PV Naik said that not until Pakistan agrees on a control line, the Pak-India talks on Siachen cannot continue.Siachen, a no-mans-land between India and Pakistan, is the worlds highest battlefield at 20,000 feet above sea level. Indian and Pakistan forces, estimated to number between 10,000 and 20,000 troops combined, have faced off against each other in the steep mountains off the Siachen glacier in the Karakoram Range of the mighty Himalayas since 1984.
