LAHORE (Dunya News) – Private universities has announced to establish an association for the future of higher education in Pakistan as the education sector also suffered a hit in the current wave of crises which has put the future of millions of students at stake.
According to details, the flour and sugar crisis were already damaging Punjab and the new plight of reduction rather than development in fields of higher level learning has surfaced due to the failed policies of the government. It is severely impacting the future of millions of students and teachers.
Private universities in Punjab have announced the establishment of an association to protect the rights of students and teachers. During the meeting, participants expressed serious concerns over government s hostile policies.
Statement released by the association warned government that if these hostile policies were to continue, private universities would be closed, which will endanger the future of millions of students.
The meeting also announced the charter of the association which includes taking steps to make pursuit of higher education easier for students, devising a strategy to improve standard of higher education, eliminating irregularities in education system, making efforts for reforming government’s hostile policies and taking steps to make government accept legitimate demands of investors and owners of private institutions.
It was also decided in the meeting that Charter of Demands of the universities will be forwarded to government officials as soon as possible.
