Summary Sources say the government has decided to increase power tariff once again in June by 2 percent.
According to sources, electricity price has already reached Rs 7.08 per unit and further increase in prices would add to the miseries of the consumers.Sources also claimed that Rs 12 billion subsidy on electricity will be withdrawn in line with the programmes presented by international financial institutions and it will add Rs 2.10 trillion to the government exchequer.Sources said that currently, Pakistan Electric Power Company (PEPCO) is being given Rs 1.9 trillion subsidy.
