Summary The chief justice has said that the house of a common man is auctioned for not paying the debt.
During the hearing of Rs 256 billion written off loans case, Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry remarked that influential people did not pay back loans and their pawned properties were not confiscated.The CJP said that loan waving off was beyond comprehension because it was the public money that could not be allowed to be plundered.He said that the government met its expanses by the money of tax payers.He said that the people whose loans were written off were immune to any confiscation and their factories were still running but a common man’s house was auctioned for the non-payment of loan.
