Summary The US ambassador linked Pakistans support for Taliban with Kashmir dispute in a diplomatic cable.
US ambassador Anne W Patterson sent a cable to Washington in November 2009 in which she opined that Pakistan could withdraw its support for Taliban, if Kashmir dispute would be resolved.Commenting on Afghan insurgency, Patterson wrote that Indian oriented US foreign policy paved the way for Pakistan’s proximity with Taliban.She recommended that the US should review the Indian influence in Afghanistan before acting against Al Qaeda in Pakistan.
