Summary The Government rejects the US request, seeking not to shut down CIA centres in Pakistan.
A US newspaper reported that US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton requested the Pakistani authorities to let CIA intelligence centres in Peshawar and Quetta continue their operations.But the Pakistani authorities adopted a firm tune after the US unilateral action in Abbottabad and turned down the request, the paper claimed. According to the paper, Pakistan considers the US drone strikes in Pakistani tribal area a breach on its sovereignty and Pakistan has said that it will review its policy regarding the drone operations. The paper reported that despite having differences, both countries understood that friendly relations were in their interests.
