Summary Ghaus has said Finance Minister Hafeez Sheikh did the PTCl deal against national interests.
In a meeting of the standing committee on privatization, Federal Minister for Privatization Ghaus Bakash Mehr said he had gone through the details of the PTCL deal. He was of the view the deal was beyond comprehension. The proposal given by secretary privatization to float OGDCL’s 10 percent shares for $ 500 million was rejected. Members of the committee termed it a plan for money laundering. The committee also summoned Ministry of Water and Power and Cabinet Division with regard to the privatization of power companies.
