Summary The Defence Ministry declared that China was ready to take control of Gwadar Port.
On his return from China, Defence Minister Ahmed Mukhtar said that the charge of Gwadar Port would be given to China once the contract of Singapore Authority would be over.The minister said that Pakistan would welcome the establishment of naval base in Gwadar by China, adding that Pakistan also requested the Chinese government to train Pakistani submarine and frigate staff.Mukhtar said that China also inclined to give Pakistan FC 20 fighter jets.Meanwhile, Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Aslam Raisani said that rendering Gwadar Port to China would augment the sense of depravation of Baloch People.He said that federal cabinet had decided that the Balochistan chief minister would be the chairman of Gwadar Port.
