Users can unblock SIMs by dialling 789: PTA

The Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has formulated a procedure for users to unblock the 875,000 unregistered SIMs that have been blocked. The users whose unregistered SIMs have been blocked can unblock them by dialling 789 and registering the SIMs.According to a spokesperson of the PTA, users were directed to send their National Identify Card number to 668 to verify the data of the SIM and avoid blocking.According to the PTA, the process which started on May 18 would be completed in four weeks. PTA added that every week 875,000 unregistered SIMs would be blocked while collectively a total of 3.5 million unregistered SIMs would be blocked.
