Summary Soomro said there are 204 state-owned institutions and privatization of all of them isn’t possible.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Federal Minister for Privatization Muhammad Mian Soomro on Friday said that the privatization process of government enterprises has been accelerated while privatization committee has been working on eight enterprises.
Addresing at an event in Karachi, he expressed that there are 204 state-owned institutions and privatization of all of them isn’t possible. “But the institutions that need to be restored on a priority basis or those that are important will be privatized first,” he added.
He said that all the ministries and cabinet committees have agreed on privatization program. Among the eight institutions which will be privatized initially include, Balloki RNG Power Plant and Haveli Bahadur Shah Service Hotel Lahore, Convention Center Lahore, Guddu Power, Nandipur Power Project and others.
