Summary A British newspaper has said that Pakistan allowed US to conduct a unilateral operation back in 2001
The newspaper said, with reference to Pakistani and United States officials, that the agreement was made between the former Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf and the former US President GW Bush which allowed US to conduct a unilateral operation against Osama Bin Laden on Pakistani soil after he had escaped from Tora Bora in Afghanistan in 2001.The US was also allowed to search for and operate against Aiman Al Zawahiri and other Al Qaeda leaders. The newspaper said that it was also agreed that Pakistan would strongly condemn the operations conducted by the US. It claimed that the agreement was verified in 2008, after the formation of a democratic government in Pakistan, when Musharraf was president of the country.
