SHC releases MQM-H leaders on bail

Summary SHC ordered the release of Mohajir Qaumi Movement-Haqiqi (MQM-H) leaders on bail.

A case was registered by Landhi Police against Afaq Ahmad and Amir Khan in 1998. They were allegedly involved in the murder of Farooq Ahmad who was brother of MQM provincial minister Haroon Siddiqui.Additional District and Session Judge East Ubaid Ahmad Khan had sentenced both of the accused to life imprisonment with fine.In the last hearing, Sindh High Court had rejected the government’s request to shift the hearing to the Shariat Court.The court suspended the sentence of both the accused and directed the government to release them if there were no other cases against them.
