Political leadership unites, condemns terrorist attack on Pak Army

ISLAMABAD: (Dunya News) - After the martyrdom of ten Pakistan Army personnel today (July 27) in a terrorist attack in North Waziristan and Balochistan, the country‘s political leadership united and strongly condemned the attack.


Some forces do not want peace and stability: Shah Mehmood Qureshi


Reacting to the terrorist attack on the Pak Army, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said some forces do not want peace and stability. Today‘s operation by terrorists is an act of coward and hinders peace.

He added that they are doing their best and will continue their efforts for peace. “These forces do not want peace and stability neither in Pakistan nor Afghanistan”, asserted.

He tweeted, “the nation is indebted to the 10 valiant soldiers who embraced martyrdom in two separate terrorist attacks along the Pak- Afghan border today. Their sacrifice along with the sacrifices of thousands of our soldiers continues to fortify our resolve to defeat terrorism.”


I express condolence for our young martyrs: Ijaz Ahmad Shah


Interior Minister Ijaz Ahmad Shah has strongly condemned the attacks on Pak Army. He expressed condolences for the martyred soldiers and said he was equally involved in the grief of their families. The terrorists involved in such acts are anti-peace elements, he added.

Ministry of Interior tweeted, “Heart goes out to the families of the Brave sons of soil. Salute to #PakistanArmy and its soldiers for guarding us. Brig (R) Ijaz Ahmad Shah strongly condemned the attack saying that these are anti peace elements.”


Martyrs are the real heroes of the nation: Bilawal Bhutto Zardari


Meanwhile, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari strongly condemned the attack on Pakistan Army troops in North Waziristan. He added that the martyrs are the real heroes of the nation, expressing sympathy and solidarity with the relatives of the personnel.


Martyrs are the light of nation’s eyes: Asif Ali Zardari


Former President Asif Ali Zardari grieved the martyrdom of the Pakistan Army soldiers saying that if the National Action Plan (NAP) was followed then terror nurses would have been eliminated. He expressed his condolences to the parents of the martyrs and said that in this tragic hour, PPP shares their mourning of the martyrs.


Our relation with the world is not being tolerated by anti-national elements: Fawad Chaudhry


Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhry said that they have overcome major challenges to restore their relation with the world whereas they will not let the blood of the martyrs go in waste and hold the terrorist accountable for each drop of these soldier‘ blood. The terrorists actions are a reflection of their despair, he added.

He said that they have also carried out operations in South Waziristan and FATA, they have defeated terrorism in Pakistan, and Pakistan has emerged as a powerful country in the world which the world has highly appreciated.


Chief Minister pays tribute to those who sacrificed for their motherland


On the other hand, Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Bazdar also condemned the terrorist attacks in Hoshab and Turbat region of North Waziristan and Balochistan. “The terrorist attack from across the border is a very unfortunate and condemnable act,” he added while condoling the bereaved family.


Armed forces have made unprecedented sacrifices to protect the motherland: Shehbaz Sharif


Shahbaz Sharif, President of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML_N) and Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly, has also condemned the terrorist attack on the border patrolling party of the Pak Army in North Waziristan.

The former Chief Minister expressed sadness and sorrow over the martyrdom of the Pakistan Army personnel and said that the armed forces have made unprecedented sacrifices for the protection and defense of the motherland.

He further said that Afghanistan should stop terrorists in the area against Pakistan and destroy their fortress. “May Allah rise the rank of martyrs and give their family the courage to endure this tragedy,” he expressed.


Cross-border terrorist attack is worrisome: Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa


Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has also condemned the attacks, saying that the attack of terrorists from across the border is worrisome. While condemning the terrorist attacks, he asserted that terrorist will not succeed as courage of Pakistan is sky-high and terrorism will be eliminated.


Sacrifice of our soldiers will be fruitful and bring country to peace: Siraj-ul-Haq


Siraj-ul-Haq, Senator of Jamaat-e-Islami, also condemned the attack, saying that we extend our deepest sympathy and condolences to the affected families. He expressed that this sacrifice of the young soldiers will be fruitful and Pakistan will become a haven of peace.


Our desire for peace is our strength: Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan


Special Advisor to PM for Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan expressed that she condemns the attack on Pak Army. “Our desire for peace is our strength”, she asserted.

She added that anti-peace forces do not want to see peace in the region. “The Pak army has the ability to defend in every situation whereas Afghanistan needs to improve its home, our peace efforts should not be considered a weakness”, she maintained


Afghan government must take steps to end terrorism: Chairman Senate


Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani expressed deep sorrow over the martyrdom of Pak Army and strongly condemned the terrorist attack.

Sadiq Sanjrani said that the Afghan government must take effective steps to end terrorism. “The enemy‘s action is a cowardly act and the evil elements are the enemies of peace in Pakistan. The terrorists will never succeed in their malicious ambitions”, he added.

He expressed that the nation is united against the terrorists and the enemies of the country. He prayed that Allah may grant the martyrs the highest rank in Jannah.


Terrorist attack on army is sorrowful: Saleem Mandviwalla


Deputy Chairman Senator Saleem H. Mandviwalla said that the terrorist attack on the army is very unfortunate event. “In the fight against terrorism, the Pakistan Army has made immense sacrifices, the army is fighting terrorism bravely and the nation is standing beside our Army in fight against terrorism”, he expressed.
