Summary Power-producing companies are generating 50% of country’s electricity: IPPs
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Government faces another challenge as Independent Power Producers (IPPs) have threatened to go to international court of arbitration if their issues did not resolve.
IPPs association in a statement said power producing companies are generating 50% of country’s electricity but government is not paying Rs 375 billion to 22 companies. The statement added that IPPs are ready to share details of profit with the government.
The association said it was a wrong decision to go for fuel for generation of electricity in past, adding that it has briefed the commission investigating the loans of the country.
The association said our contract allows us to move to international court of arbitration.
