Summary The meeting between doctors and the chief ministers committee could not reach a conclusion.

A meeting between the representatives of the Young Doctors Association and the committee formed by Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif to finalise a deal for doctors was held in the Chief Minister’s House, Lahore.The participants of the meeting could not decide over the formula of salary raise and another committee was constituted to give its recommendations on the matter in two days. The chief minister’s committee held separate meetings with the representatives of doctors, paramedics, pharmacists and nurses.Committee member Dr Saeed Elahi said that the government would also raise the salaries of paramedics, pharmacists and nurses, besides increasing doctors’ salaries. The YDA had called off its strike after one month as the government assured doctors that their pay would be raised and service structure would be revised.
