The Karachi Electricity Supply Corporation (KESC) has reduced the load shedding duration in the city after receiving 3,000 metric tonne of furnace oil from Pakistan State Oil (PSO).The PSO has resumed the supply of furnace oil to KESC after overcoming its financial crisis. Up to four and a half hours load shedding is being observed in commercial areas while this duration is three and a half hours for residential consumers. According to a KESC spokesman, load shedding in the city may be decreased further with constant supply of gas and furnace oil.
