Faisal Vawda announces to hold inquiry on delay in Dasu Dam project

Summary Faisal Vawda said corrupts will be held accountable as accountability process won't stop now.

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Federal Minister for Water Resources Faisal Vawda on Monday announced to launch an inquiry against the delay in Dasu Dam project, saying that they won’t let the institutions to destroy now whereas ministry will also probe the embezzlement of water resources in past period.

Addressing to press conference, Faisal Vawda expressed that every corrupt element will be held accountable as accountability process will not stop now. Moreover, he asserted that no information related to flood situations has been received from India.

On the other hand, Minister for Water Resources said that Executive Committee of National Economic Council (ECNEC) approved 4320 megawatt Dasu hydropower project and work would be started on it shortly.

Addressing a press conference, Vawda said the project was delayed for the last three and half years and national kitty was suffering Rs300-360 million daily loss.

He said inquiry was being conducted to fix the responsibility that who were involved in delay of this important project. The country suffered loss of billion of rupees due to this criminal negligence, he added.
