Summary Marriage registrars would go to jail if they registered an early marriage: IHC
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Tuesday ruled that marriage registrars would go to jail if they registered an early marriage and their licenses would be revoked.
Justice Mohsin Akhter Kyani remarked that registering child marriage is a crime and police should analyze age of girls if nikah is done after abduction of the girls.
He ordered police to take an action against such marriage registrars and asked IG and chief commissioner to implement the ruling.
He remarked that everyone finds three marriage registrars in federal capital and these three are involved in different cases. He said 28 cases are registered against one of these registrars.
