FATF applauds Pakistan's effort encountering terrorism regime

ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Pakistan has successfully averted to fall into the blacklist by foiling India’s attempt at Financial Action Task Force (FATF) meeting which has decided to review Pakistan again in October.

According to the Finance Ministry’s statement, the FATF appreciated Pakistan’s measures on freezing accounts and assets of terror organizations and achieving other high goals. Pakistan will ensure to complete rest of the tasks in coming months.

In Florida meeting, FATF was informed about fake bank accounts, suspicious remittance, cancellation of banned organizations’ bank registration and various steps taken in bank sector.

According to the sources, Pakistani intelligence agencies helped overcoming the money laundering in the country which prevented funding to the terrorists. Even China, Turkey and Malaysia applauded Pakistan’s effort in achieving such goals.

FATF will review Pakistan again in October 2019.
