ZAB case: PPP wants to set record straight, Babar Awan

Summary Babar Awan said that PPP was not against the judiciary but it wanted to correct the record.

The Chief Justice, Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhary, led 11-member bench to hear the case.Arguing on behalf of the federation of Pakistan, Babar Awan said that the case was conducted in hurriedly which shows partiality on part of the judges. He said that PPP did not want to take revenge from anyone but it only wanted to correct the record.Justice Jawad S. Khawaja wondered that how an incomplete Challan of an FIR, registered in 1974, was submitted in 1978. The Chief Justice observed that no evidence was found during 75 to 77 and how the case came up in 1977.Khalid Anwar refused to coordinate the court due to his personal reasons. Advocate AK Dogar challenged the hearing on presidential reference regarding reopening of Bhutto murder case.Giving remarks on AK Dogar’s application, the Chief Justice said that the court do not want to hide anything.
