ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Former President Asif Ali Zardari has been issued a notice to appear before Joint Investigation Team (JIT) on Thursday in suspicious transactions and Opal 225 inquiry regarding fake account case.

As per details, the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) called Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader in two inquiries today.

It was mentioned in the NAB’s notice, Asif Ali Zardari will record his statement to investigating officer Ahmad Saeed about the inquiry of Rs8 billion suspicious transaction.

Former President has also been inquired about the alleged one billion rupees bribe in Opal 225 plan.

On May 15, The Islamabad High Court (IHC) granted interim bail to former president Asif Ali Zardari and his sister Faryal Talpur in all of the cases.

The NAB prosecutor told the court that Park Lane case was ready and his arrest warrants have also been issued. In Park Lane Estate case, the court extended his bail till June 12.

Regarding an inquiry into Opal 225 property, owned by Zardari Group, both Zardari and Talpur’s bail has been extended till June 11 against surety bonds of Rs500,000 each.

PPP co-chairman Zardari had filed a pre-arrest bail applications in the IHC, seeking its directives for barring the NAB from arresting him in corruption cases.
