Summary Medical teams were facing difficulties in the screening due to shortage of kits.
KARACHI (Dunya News) – Aids is spreading in Shikarpur area of Sindh as 4 more cases of HIV surfaced on Wednesday.
DHO health Shikarpur Dr Shabbir Sheikh said after screening of 800 people in different parts of area it was found that 2 years old Ruqaya, 2 years old Anees, 10 years old Rabel Shah, 9 years old Haris and 14 others tested positive for HIV.
The patients who were tested positive for HIV have raised to 27 in the district. A crackdown has been started against quacks and unregistered health facilities following the outbreak of HIV cases in the district, he added.
He said medical teams were facing difficulties in the screening due to shortage of kits. He said we have asked authorities for kits but received no response over the matter yet.
