LHC forms larger bench for petitions against Local Government Act 2019

LAHORE (Dunya News) - Lahore High Court (LHC) has formed a larger bench headed by Justice Mamoon Ur Rasheed to hear the petitions filed against the Local Government Act 2019.

After the approval from Chief Justice LHC Sardar Shamim Khan, a three member bench has been constituted to hear petitions filed against the Local Government Act 2019.

The bench would comprise Justice Mamoon Ur Rasheed, Justice Shahid Waheed and Justice Jawad Hassan.

LHC had already accepted the petitions filed against Local Government Act 2019 for hearing. LHC had asked Federal government, Punjab government and ECP to submit answer in this regard.

Justice Mamoon Ur Rasheed suggested forming larger bench to hear petitions regarding the Local Government Act 2019. Former mayor Lahore Colonel (r) Mubashir Javed and others filed applications against the act and asked the court to allow local government to work until its verdict.
