LAHORE (Dunya News) – NAB has arrested general manager of Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) in a corruption case.

The suspect is alleged of awarding contracts worth millions to the contractors illegally and NAB said evidences of embezzlement of billion rupees were found during inquiry.

NAB Lahore said GM of LWMC Tahir Maqbool was arrested after he was found involved in illegal evaluation and of awarding contracts worth millions to the contractors.

Tahir Maqbool was working as GM procurement and contracts. NAB is investigating an alleged embezzlement in the funds of LWMC.

NAB said the suspect Tahir is alleged of causing loss to the national kitty by favoring contractors with awards worth millions.

The suspect has awarded illegal contracts to Albarak without approval of board of directors. NAB has arrested 3 suspects in this earlier who gave further evidences of corruption.

NAB Lahore would ask court for physical remand of Tahir Maqbool on May 7.It is worth noting that NAB investigation team has summoned former CM Punjab Shehbaz Sharif in this case on May 13.
