LAHORE (Dunya News) – PM Imran khan on Saturday approved to launch an inquiry against 800 corrupt bureaucrats.

The prime minister met with Director General Anti-Corruption Ejaz Hussain Shah at Allama Iqbal International airport. The meeting was also attended by Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar which discussed the matters pertaining to corruption and corrupt elements in the country.

Prime Minister Imran Khan on the occasion expressed that elimination of corruption from Pakistan was the top priority of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government.

Prime Minister Imran Khan said corruption had not only destroyed Pakistan’s economy but also institutions of the country. He added that the lives of ordinary Pakistanis had been impacted due to corruption.

The prime minister further said that progress could not take place in Pakistan with corruption.

Prime Minister Imran Khan directed DG Anti Corruption to take indiscriminate action against corrupt elements and assured the complete support of the government.

After the meeting, the DG Anti Corruption Punjab expressed that the approval has been given to launch inquiry against officers of grade 17 to grade 22.
He asserted prior to this 50% corruption cases were limited to lower rank employees only adding that no government bigwig was investigated.

He further said every officer under the radar would be given a fair trial and no one would be troubled unnecessarily.
