Summary CII declares such actions need to be denounced
ISLAMABAD(Dunya News) - The Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) in its verdict pertaining to Tatheer Fatima’s plea to change her father’s name, declared the removal unlawful when the identity of parent is known.
As per the detailed verdict, Taheer Fatima’s plea to use the name ‘Bint-e-Pakistan’ instead of her father’s name is not deemed correct as per Shariah. Such actions need to be denounced.
Earlier, Tatheer Fatima filed a petition in Supreme Court (SC) seeking a change of her surname to ‘Bint-e-pakistan.’
In a Suo moto, Council of Islamic Ideology (CII) has given the Shariah viewpoint on the matter. The verdict in Tatheer Fatima’s case has been sent to the law ministry.
