Summary Blockage of 90 million sim cards, 100 websites and 3000 social media proved insufficient
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Terrorists use social media to make contact, National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) said in its report on Sunday.
The report released on Sunday stated that the NACTA and other departments failed to stop wrong use of social media.
The report further declared the amendments in the Electronic Crimes Act as inevitable, adding that the terrorists were still using Afghan sim cards to make contact.
“The blockage of 90 million sim cards, 100 websites and 3000 social media proved insufficient,” the report said.
The NACTA declared that the Electronic Crimes Act failed to stop cyber attacks on national security infrastructure, adding that clauses should be in the Act for the defence of these cyber attacks.
A Cyber Surveillance Unit should also be formed in the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) in this regard, the report added.
