ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Pharmaceutical mafia paid no heed to PM Imran’s orders as there was no decrease in the prices of medicines even after the notification.

After a hike in prices of medicines, government had ordered to immediately lower the prices. The federal minister for health Amir Kyani also vowed to take strict action against medicine mafia but nothing was done in this regard.

The masses are protesting against this brutal decision.

Resolution submitted in Punjab assembly against hike in medicine prices

It is worth noting that pharmaceutical companies increased prices of many medicines including one used for heart treatment that was raised to485 rupees from 186 rupees. The medicine for sugar control was raised to RS460 from Rs 272 while medicine for throat disease was hiked to 921 rupees. Blood pressure medicine rose to Rs235 from Rs162.

Earlier, Resolution was submitted in the Punjab Assembly asking for reversal of decision to increases the prices of medicines.

Member Punjab Assembly from PML-N Sania Ashiq moved the resolution stating that the federal government has increased the prices of medicines with collusion of Pharmaceutical companies.

The resolution further stated that the lives of poor are on risk after this increase.
