Summary Medical community is being tortured due to lack of facilities in public hospitals, said YDA president
QUETTA (Dunya News) – Protesting doctors announced to continue the strike in public hospitals of Quetta by closing outdoor patient departments (OPDs) and trauma centers until the approval of demands by Young Doctor Association (YDA) regarding latest health facilities and apprehension of vandals who also attacked one of the senior doctors Dr Sultan Tareen a few days ago.
While addressing to the conference in civil hospital, YDA president Dr. Hamal Bugti said that it is unfortunate to see government rolling eyes over the protest. There is an unfounded propaganda going against the protesting doctors on social media.
“The provincial government never showed seriousness toward our demands and on adequate facilities for poor patients,” YDA representative Dr Abdul Malik Kakar said.
YDA president criticized the department saying that section officers have kept the bazaar of bribery hot in the hospitals and there is no one to question them. The medical community is being tortured due to lack of facilities in public hospitals.
Dr. Hamal Bugti said that civil hospital is deprived of many facilities including magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The patients are losing their lives due to lack of amenities in public hospitals.
Protest will prevail peacefully until the demands are met, said YDA president.
