Summary Asima Jahangir said that additional judges sit in the judicial commission which was unconstitutional
The Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) expressed dissatisfaction over proposals on judges’ appointment in higher judiciary and judicial commission.Addressing a press conference in Lahore, SCBA president Asima Jahangir said that additional judges sit in the judicial commission which was unconstitutional as only permanent judges could sit in the commission.She revealed that name of a lawyer had been sent for the post of judge but he was involved in 35 lakh fraud in the bar. She added that judges’ appointments were not being made on merit which was the biggest hurdle in dispensation of justice.
