Summary Poetry binds people through culture and manifests a universal brotherhood of kindred spirits

(Web Desk) – Poetic expression dawns from the ethos of the soul of the poet who inspired by his dwellings, culture and surrounding transcends into the rhythmic realm of the spirit and finds a way to communicate his innermost tranquil thoughts to the world, where everyone can not only relate to his experience but can also feel his vent conveyed through a two liner a stanza or a poem.

Poets throughout world history have occupied a special place as they have the ability to touch the inner most chords of the society bringing out dilemmas in a sequence that is both beautiful yet wholesome, delivering the message loudly and clearly to the audience.

It is a way to bind people through culture and manifest a universal brotherhood of kindred spirits depicting the struggles, joys, happiness and sorrow that is a necessary part of growing up and moving on.

World poetry day is celebrated on the 21st of March every year, it was adopted by United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization UNESCO’s on its 30th session held in Paris in 1999.

The purpose of this celebrations is to stress on the importance of this art that has the ability to bind people regardless of class, culture, breed and civilization and revive the traditional skill for teaching and learning this facet of one’s essence that has a profound quality of translating ones mood with the finest linguist verbosity that keeps one in tune with the original script of the language that every country holds unique to its identity.

Poetry has a special place in Pakistan as the very struggle for independence was fought on, kept alive and charged by the poetic magnificence of our National Poet Allama Iqbal. Who infused a sense of unity, pride among the Muslims of the subcontinent, who lost their link to the past glory that once was the epitome of empires, ruled by the very people who landed into slavery. He reminded us of what our past was and pulled the nation to its feet unifying and igniting a fire that breathed the dream of a separate home land into a reality on 14th August.

Such is the power of word through prose and rhyme that can pick you up, dust you off and rejuvenate a vigor that is unstoppable.

On the World Poetry Day people use the platform of Social Media to pay tribute to their favorite poets by posting the lines that are near to their heart.
