As per details, advocate Aftab Bajwa filed a petition seeking the bail of two accused under the Code of Criminal Procedure (Amendment) Bill 2011. He said that President Asif Ali zardari had signed the new bill which gives special relief to prisoners.The president had signed the Code of Criminal Procedure Amendment Bill 2011 to make a law that seeks to grant statutory bail both under trial prisoners and the convicts whose trials and appeals had not been disposed of within a prescribed time.The bill provides special relief to under trial prisoners and they would be entitled to statutory bail if they had been charged with any offence not punishable with death and had been detained for one year.
